Live Athan tells you whether a masjid is alive right now — whether someone is calling the athan in it at this moment — and carries that call, the khutbah and the dars from the masjid's own room to your pocket, your car and your living room. Free, for everyone.
الأذان الحَيّ — هل المسجد حيٌّ الآن؟ صوته يصلك أينما كنت
Register your masjid →On the App Store since 13 August 2026. Free for everyone. Prayer times and qibla work fully offline.
Live Athan carries the living athan, the iqama, the salat, the Friday khutbah and the daily dars from the masajid that broadcast — over the internet, from the masjid's own room to wherever you are. It tells you which masjid is alive right now, points you true toward Makkah, and keeps your prayer times exact with no signal at all. Tasbeeh and مجلس الذكر are one tab away.
See which masajid are calling the athan right now — near you and in other lands — and how many minutes until iqama.
Prayer times calculated on your device with precise astronomy — exact to the minute, even in flight, with no internet.
A precise qibla toward Makkah, correct wherever you stand on earth.
A recording becomes just another alarm, and people mute it. A living athan is different: a real muʾadhdhin is calling, right now, and you answer him — you stop, you repeat after him, you send ṣalāh on the Prophet ﷺ, you make duʿāʾ in the moment between athan and iqama, the duʿāʾ that is answered. A recording is no one's ʿibādah. Live Athan carries the living call from the masjid to your ear — the way the loudspeaker once did, now over the internet, across every border. Liveness is not a feature of Live Athan. It is Live Athan.
For the first time the masjid has a live channel of its own — not a loudspeaker bounded by one street, but a digital minaret that reaches every follower wherever they are. Its athan, its iqama, its salat, its khutbah and dars go out live, the moment they happen. A masjid that bans its loudspeaker outdoors can still be heard by everyone who loves it. And what happens inside is no longer unseen: when the masajid are connected and heard in real time, the community is informed of what matters, united across distance, and able to stand for the houses of Allah and protect them.
Masjid Mode is how the voice leaves the room: inside the masjid, in a prayer window, the switch goes on, and the athan, the iqama, the salat, the khutbah and the dars go out as they happen, with the masjid keeping its own recording of them. Masjid Mode belonging to everyone — no enrolment, no role, nothing to apply for — was built on 10 September 2026 and is in the next version of the app, which is not submitted to Apple yet.
A scattered community becomes an informed, aware community — its masajid heard, and watched over, in real time.
Not everyone can be at the masjid for every prayer — women, the elderly, the sick, children, those in lands where masajid are few. Live Athan brings the masjid home: hear your own masjid's living athan and iqama, follow its Friday khutbah as it is given, and let the home gather to the same call as the jamāʿah down the road. When someone at home calls the athan, the conditions of prayer are met and the household prays together — the home becomes a small masjid. The Apple TV app is built to carry this to the living-room screen — the earth as it is this minute, and the masjid that is calling on it right now — and it is not submitted to Apple yet.
You're on the road, prayer is due, and the map shows a masjid ahead — but in much of the world the masjid isn't open for every prayer, and you arrive to a locked door, too late. Live Athan tells you before you go which masjid is alive right now: people inside, the athan being called this moment. And where there is no masjid at all, you can call the athan yourself, wherever you are — a rest stop, an airport, the open road. Your prayer times stay exact in any city, any time zone, even in flight, with no signal.
Five times a day, and for an hour every Jumuʿah, the people are gathered to learn — no other nation teaches itself this way. When a masjid broadcasts, what it taught is kept: its athan and iqama, its salat, its khutbah and its dars are shelved in «مئذنة» inside the app, so the lesson you could not attend is still there when you can. And a khaterah every day, with the scholar's name and the source beside it.
Khutab, durus, athans and salat kept from the masajid that broadcast. Browse the shelf, hear what you missed, and keep your masjid's own athan as the one your phone calls.
What your masjid tells its people, in its own tab — a janazah, a change of iqama, a lesson tonight. Heart a masjid and you hear from it.
Short reminders from trusted scholars, one tap to watch the source.
The circles of learning held in the masajid after the prayers — Qur'an with its meaning, tajwīd by riwāyah before a sheikh, ḥadīth, fiqh, any beneficial knowledge — announced by the masjid, carried live, and kept in «مئذنة» afterwards, so a student anywhere can sit with the best teachers. Built in September 2026; in the next version of the app, not submitted to Apple yet.
The version on the App Store today (1.1, 27 August 2026) listens, shows prayer times, the qibla, your masjid's iqama and its announcements. Everything below is built and running on the founder's own iPhone and Apple TV, and goes to Apple in the next version. We say what exists; we do not promise dates.
Inside the masjid, in a prayer window, the phone opens its microphone by itself at the iqama and carries the athan, the iqama, the salat, the khutbah and the dars — with a Go Live screen for the one who wants to press it himself, voice or voice and picture. On iPhone and on Android alike it opens by itself, and never while the phone is moving at driving speed.
Every broadcast is kept and cut into its pieces — athan, iqama, salat, khutbah, dars, khaterah, circle — with a title written from the words that were spoken, so you can search a lesson by what the sheikh said. A feed of khair to turn through, picture where the masjid had the camera on, and your own masjid's athan as the one your phone calls.
The centre button of the app: circles live now, the circles your masajid announced, circles around the world by science, and the recorded ones in «مئذنة». A masjid announces a circle through its announcements — the science, after which prayer, which days. Joining a circle from home, with voice and picture, is the stage after this one.
The earth as it is this minute, with the masajid that are calling lit upon it; the prayer board of your masjid; «مئذنة» on the big screen; the circles; and a khaterah between the prayers — in eight languages. Built and running in the founder's living room; not submitted to Apple yet.
Registering a masjid puts it into the record Live Athan and the Apple TV read — its prayer times, its iqama, its announcements, its circles. The masjid's own iqama table can be entered from the app and reaches the record the same evening. MMS, the free management system for masajid, is in build and is not open yet.
Live Athan for the car is in build: the masajid around you, the Qibla, your own masjid, and «مئذنة» as a radio. It is not in any car yet.
When the Prophet ﷺ reached Madinah, the first thing he built was the masjid — the center of worship, knowledge, governance, welfare, news, and mobilization. The athan is the heartbeat of that center: the call to unite in prayer five times a day, the school-bell of the community, the way Muslims feel their strength together. It was never a noise to be silenced — it is a ritual to be answered. Live Athan exists to restore the masjid to its place at the center, and the athan to its place as the living voice that gathers us — now over the internet, across borders and languages, to a generation that grew up far from the minaret.
كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ
"You are the best nation brought forth for mankind." A nation that is called together, taught, and united — five times a day.
Register your masjid so Live Athan carries its prayer times, its iqama and its living athan in every worshipper's pocket. Anyone who loves the masjid can start it; the person in charge confirms it to manage it. Registration puts the masjid into the record Live Athan reads — the masjid's own public page on liveathan.com is not published yet, and there is no masjid console to sign in to yet. What we promise for when they open: a masjid never pays, and no masjid's page is ever taken down, degraded, throttled, watermarked or feature-gated for money.
A human voice at the real moment, not a recording. Free on iPhone — on the App Store now.
